| Description | The .cbr file is a compressed file for the storage of a set of comic book images. However, the comic book images can be preordered and the display mode can be adjusted to permit the viewing of two images side by side leading to a double-page spread. |
| Technical details | Images contained in the CBR archives have lossy JPEG files or Lossless PNG files with the RAR method of archiving. Alternatively, GIF, TIFF, and BMP files can be used, though, they are not popular. With the RAR compression and archiving, CBR files can be accessed by comic book reviewer applications not minding the standard decompression stage. Additional information may be accessed on the CBR file using the embedded XML files. |
