Description | The Swiff owned by Adobe is used for animated vector representation. It can contain text as well as other vector-oriented graphics. Any web browser with Flash plug-in installed can play the file. |
Technical details | Originally, it was just an acronym for "Shockwave Flash" as it was initially developed for Shockwave player. These files are stored in binary form as 8-bit bytes. The latest SWF10 version now supports expanded text capabilities, including bidirectional texts and complex scripts. Additionally, it allows for embedding JPEG images with alpha channel transparency and smooth filtering. |
